Kommon Denominator was founded by Dr. Alma Abdul-Hadi Jadallah in 1996. She is joined by Mr. Bruce Engelbert. They bring broad and complementary experience on the national and international levels. Together they have more than five decades of experience in government, private sector, and community work. Their expertise encompasses organizational and leadership development, conflict prevention and mitigation, training and education, public participation, and monitoring and evaluation.

Team members are bilingual in Arabic and English with basic knowledge of French. Their cultural competency spans from North America to Europe and the Middle East, and from Africa to South East Asia. They hold post-graduate degrees from top universities such as University of California, Berkeley, Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University, Creighton University School of Law, and Jordan University.

Kommon Denominator (KD) of Fairfax, Virginia is proud to announce that the company's President and Managing Director, Alma Abdul-Hadi Jadallah, PhD, won top honor as the 2009 Woman Business Enterprise Regional Star Award. Previous awards include the DC - Region Outstanding Woman Business Enterprise for 2008. In 2007, the company was listed on the Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise in Maryland, a recognition conferred by the University of Maryland College Park, Maryland Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs, and the Maryland Chamber of Commerce.

The company is also proud to report that in 2007 exceeded its commitment to donate 10 percent of their profits to non-profits and social entrepreneurs in the areas where they work.
